Born on 21 March 1995, Hany Abubakar Mukhtar is a professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Portuguese club, Benfica. German by nationality, Mukhtar was born in Berlin to a Sudanese father and a German mother. His international career includes scoring the only winning goal for Germany in the 2014 UEFA European Under-19 Championship final against Portugal. On 15 May 2015, Mukhtar was selected by the under-20s for the that year’s FIFA World Cup held in New Zealand.
